Contractor, who had been a student for a year was invited to audition during an open call for Pericles which was held at the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canada] and won the role. After the show ran for 92 times, she was rewarded with positive reviews. The production was recognized as one of the most successful productions in Canada by the critics. Contractor accepted the offer to attend Stratford's Conservatory program. Only eight men selected and four females are admitted for a 20-week intensive course in the classical theatre. Contractor got a confirmed place for the next season and was given the role of Hermia.
